Join us in celebrating the 88th anniversary of our Boys Tri-State Basketball Tournament in 2017!  Each year, hundreds of boys, grades 4-8, come together for an amazing twenty-four hour mega-tournament.  Players come from all over the tri-state area and locations beyond.
Today, the tournament has teams playing in gyms throughout Sioux Falls and the surrounding area.  The games are played in less than 24 hours with the boys participating in a tradition that has grown to the biggest and best basketball tournament in the world based upon Athletic Sportsmanship and Christian Fellowship.
Three Game Guarantee
Each team this year is guaranteed to play three games (forfeits are considered a game). Brackets can be broken into several different formations to fit the number of teams registered and competition level.
Registration opens in December and closes March 1, 2017.
If you have any questions about the tournament, please visit the Boy's Tri-State Webpage, contact Sarah Wittrock at or call (605) 336-3190 x25.

Additional Information

  • BONUS!  All attendees may enter their children, ages 4-15, into a drawing to win a FREE session at YMCA Camp Leif Ericson next summer!  No purchase required. One entry per eligible participant.
  • Frank’s Café, managed by our Y-Service Club, serves hot/cold beverages and desserts for sale.  Cash only, please.
  • Pumpkin Carving: $5 per pumpkin (many choose to purchase their family pumpkin even if they don't carve it that evening).  Carving tools are provided.
  • We highly advise that parents of small children bring strollers that are meant for "off road" use.
  • The "Trick or Treat Trail" is approximately 1/2 miles long (probably about the same distance you'd walk around your neighborhood on Halloween evening).
  • The Haunted Trail is approximately 1/2 miles long.  Walking in the dark woods at night, even without our actors, can be very scary - especially for young children.  We recommend parents use discretion when determining if their child can participate. Generally, the trail is designed for brave thrill seekers, ages 12+.
  • For the safety of our guests, please leave your pets at home.  Thank you.
  • All other activities and snacks are free, including candy, popcorn and fun!

Volunteer and Sponsorship Opportunities

Organizations, businesses, individuals and families who wish to volunteer, host a trick-or-treat cabin or help defray the costs of the event, can contact Eric Tucker at or call (605) 336-3190.  Thank you.

Trivia Night Basics

  • This is an informal fundraising event (wear your favorite old jeans and t-shirt!).
  • Teams of eight, usually composed of family, friends, neighbors, etc., compete with other table groups in ten trivia categories.
  • The ten trivia categories are composed of ten questions each, with topics ranging from history to pop culture.  All ages are considered when developing questions.
  • A game host reads questions aloud, with two big screens featuring each question, song or video.
  • Results are tabulated in “real time.”
  • The team that wins receives the grand prize!
  • There is also a silent auction, 50/50 raffle and other games.

  • Tables are not reserved by name, unless a full table is purchased online ($200). Simply meet your team upon arrival, confirm your payment at check-in, and then choose your seats. It's that simple!
  • If you are paying for other members of your table, please have them ready to check-in under your name.
  • If you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact Eric Tucker at or call (605) 336-3190.  Thank you!

When registering online, please enter $200 in the "Other" box if you are purchasing an entire table.  Thank you!
