Activities

  • Your child will be provided age-appropriate activities. We aim to create a child-lead “YES” environment with various choices and opportunities to support social and emotional development. We offer common areas such as art, dramatic play, blocks, books, and gross motor activities to engage your child during their time with us.

Wellness

  • Please keep children home if they are ill. We strive to maintain a clean and healthy environment for our families and appreciate your cooperation. In the event that your child becomes ill in our care, we will notify you and ask that you remove the child immediately. Our staff is not allowed to administer medications.
  • Food and drinks are not permitted in Child Watch as we are not a licensed daycare. Sippy cups with lids and bottles are allowed for children ages 6 weeks to 2 years of age.

Security

  • You must be at least 18 years of age to sign a child in/out of Child Watch. Please leave your name and location in the building (where you will be most of the time) so that you are easily accessible if we need to contact you. Please use effective communication with our staff regarding the needs of your child(ren).
  • Please remember you must remain inside the building while your child is in Child Watch.
  • Whoever signs the child into Child Watch should also pick up the child unless you make alternative arrangements with staff in advance.
  • Please provide any needed items for you child. (i.e. diapers, wipes, extra clothes, etc.)
  • Our staff will provide your child(ren) with positive behavior reinforcement and redirection. However, negative and aggressive behavior and inappropriate language will not be tolerated and may result in suspension and/or termination.
  • Please refrain from bringing any personal toys to Child Watch. We are not responsible for any lost or stolen items.
  • At time of pick-up, staff will share information with you regarding your child’s time in our care including naps, activities, diapering, etc.
  • We look forward to meeting you! Suggestions are always welcome as we are here to make your YMCA experience the best it can be!
