Along with ball handling and shooting skills, children are ready to work on teamwork. Early in the program, skill work with dribbling and passing is stressed. Later, the idea of team play will be developed as teams participate in scrimmages. Each team of 8 - 10 players is lead by an adult volunteer leader and an assistant leader. The teams are organized according to schools. Large schools may be divided up due to number of players registered and small schools mixed in with larger schools.
Girls and boys are on separate teams.

Season Schedule
Fall Session = October 22 - December 17
Winter Session = January 7 - February 11
- 1st Saturday: Full Practice with designed drills from YMCA (with both teams together.)
- 2nd Saturday: Full Practice with designed drills from YMCA (with team alone.)
- 3rd Saturday: Split (1/2 practice, using drills designed by coach, and last 1/2 scrimmage)
- 4th Saturday: Split (1/2 practice, using drills designed by coach, and last 1/2 scrimmage)
- 5th Saturday: Full Game (No practice/drills. Full 45 minute game)
- 6th Saturday: Full Game with Award Ceremony (No practice/drills. Full 45 minute game)
Each team will be contacted by their Head Coach before the first practice for a team meeting. Do not print off your entire schedule. Due to changes, always use our basketball website for the most up-to-date schedule. In 2nd and 3rd grade, we offer week night practice space. If your coach is interested in more practice, they have the option to signing up for gym space. This will be the only time your team may meet other than on your Saturday scheduled time.
Program Fees
- Non-Member Fee: $72/session ($94 for both sessions)
- Child Member Fee: $34/session ($49 for both sessions)
- Family Member Fee: $22/session ($36 for both sessions)
