One-Week Specialty Camp

Theater Camp

Attention all Drama Kings and Queens!  If you are creative and think you’d enjoy performing in front of others, then Theater Camp is for you!

Attention all parents!  If you think your child will benefit from a program that builds confidence, improves memory and develops public speaking skills, then Theater Camp is for your child!

Join us for a week of making costumes, putting on make-up and building sets – all while you practice and memorize your lines or song!

Whether your child is just beginning or wants to enhance their performance skills, our highly trained staff are prepared to help take your child to the next level. Campers will have the opportunity to develop their skills throughout the week and even have the opportunity to perform at YMCA Camp Leif Ericson on the final day of each session.
As part of YMCA Camp Leif Ericson, our values-based program goes beyond simply showing up to perform.  We strive to incorporate many of the aspects that make our day camp program special, including:
Fun activities at camp!

  • While taking a break from performaing and rehearsing, campers may ride a horse, paddle in a canoe or enjoy an archery class!
  • Camp energy!  Before starting a theater activity, campers enjoy morning skits and songs.
  • Interactions with our world class group of role models - summer camp staff!

  • Build new friendships and learn how to be a team-member.
  • Enhance various skills and fundamentals in groups according to age.
  • Learn the skills of theater while practicing techniques and performing.
  • Practice good sportsmanship and motivate each other to succeed.
  • Engage in various age appropriate activities that enhance social-emotional skills, physically activity and self-confidence

  • FREE daily bus transportation for your child to/from YMCA Camp Leif Ericson
  • FREE hot lunch for your child each day
